Diplomas go to 340 Graduates at AHS Ceremonies

Diplomas were presented Thursday evening to 340 members of the Alhambra High School class of 1973 by school board president Maurice Huguet Jr. in ceremonies at Knowles Field.

Student speakers were Karen Stomsmoe, Jody Lindstrom, Bill King, Margaret Anne Carter, Phyllis Shaw, American Field Service student Masato Murakami and class president Michael Wood.

District Superintendent Thomas Turner announced scholarships while Principal Frank Walsh presented the class.

Rev. Carmelo Mifsud gave the invocation and Rev. Paul Williams gave the benediction. Boy Scout Troop 180 presented the flag and the AHS band played music for the processional and recessional.

Seniors graduating with honors as well as being named California State Scholarship Federation seal bearers for outstanding academic accomplishment throughout their four high school years included Louren Branshaw, Vicki Breshears, Margaret Carter, Susan Hughey, Anne Hyman, Bill King, David Latchaw, Jody Lindstrom, Wendy Meyer, Lenard Sabatini, Phillis Shaw, Karen Stromsmoe, Joanne Viglienzone and Faythe White.

Others students graduating with honors included Victoria Filomeo and Donna Jennings.

Other CSF seal bearers included Francis Bellecci, Linda Cabral, Jody Jackson, Ann McClure and Erin Seay.
